Pre-Pull & Pre-Listing Fitment Checklist
1. Part-Number Verification Steps
Read full number directly off the part itself (label, sticker, cast, or stamped number)—never rely solely on a catalog.
Record and capture full revision suffixes, suffix letters, and end digits.
Record supplier mark and date code where present.
Photograph label/number at donor before removal if hard to reach later (clean surface/angle to avoid glare).
If part number is illegible or missing, treat as unverified visual match—do not guess from donor details.
2. Option & Configuration Checks
Record donor Year, Make, Model, and Generation name (note mid-cycle splits).
Confirm Engine, Drivetrain (2WD vs 4WD/AWD), Transmission, and Body Style.
Record Position & Orientation: Left/Right, Front/Rear, Upper/Lower.
Verify donor features via data plate/build label or physical checks:
Lights:
Halogen, HID, LED, adaptive, leveling motors, ballasts, bulb designations (e.g. D-series).
Mirrors:
Heated (check heater symbol on glass), power-fold, blind-spot indicator, camera/lens, memory.
Seats/Restraints:
Airbag, heating, power, memory options.
Electronics/Modules:
Base vs premium audio, navigation, VIN-locked/security status, programming required.
Clusters/Sensors/Drivetrain:
Mileage units, driver-assist calibration required, gear ratio.
3. Connector & Photo Evidence to Capture
Full Unit & Mounts:
Entire part from front and back, including every mounting tab and point.
OEM Labels:
Clear, legible shot of part number tag, supplier label, and suffix.
Connectors:
Connector face and pin count photo (pins clearly visible for buyer comparison).
Flaws & Wear:
Close-up of every defect, broken tab, corrosion, repair, or cosmetic wear.
Included Pieces:
Single layout photo showing all attached components (bulbs, ballast, harness, caps, brackets, hardware).
Packaging:
Packed item photo before sealing box (for fragile parts).
4. Questions to Answer Before Listing
Match Title & Details:
Does the exact part number appear character-for-character in the title, item specifics, and description?
Language Check:
Did you state "removed from [year make model]" instead of an unverified "fits"?
Compatibility Table:
Is eBay's structured compatibility table filled ONLY with fitment you actually verified?
Unconfirmed Items:
Are unconfirmed fitment details explicitly designated as "buyer must verify"?
Test Status:
Is test status stated accurately (tested with date/result test note recorded, or plain "untested / sold as removed")?
Missing Items:
Are missing bulbs, brackets, caps, or hardware explicitly listed in text and photos?
Uncertain Fitment Action:
If options/fitment remain a guess, have you paused listing, listed as part-number only with buyer verification, or left it at the yard?
